Twenty One Nine
And here we are again!
Another year has passed and another welcomed. A time of reflection and resolutions, of fresh starts and renewed energy. And this New Year I find myself saying Thank you to 2018 instead of saying Goodbye.
Usually New Year is a time of great anxiety for me. Either I can’t wait for the year to be over, or I never want it to end, and so those ticking seconds to midnight have been the annual countdown into the unknown, uprooting me from comfort into the wide world of an uncertain new year. But this year was different.
2018 was a wonderful year of growth, adventure, travel and healing. It was the year I started saying YES to myself, YES to worth, YES to purpose and YES to Jesus everyday, and looking back, I honestly can’t believe how much I’ve done in twelve months!
I started a non-profit business - Zaraland
I went to Bali on a self-love yoga retreat and discovered my unashamed, wild self
I cosplayed as Poison Ivy in both Melbourne and Sydney’s Supanova’s
I showcased my art in TWO gallery events with RAW Australia
I got Glandular Fever and was stuck in bed for a month
I grew my presence as a host of a youtube channel called ETTO
I went to New Zealand with my sister and adventured Hobbiton with my best friend
I left my beloved job of three years and now work with the kindest humans, everyday getting to show the love of Jesus to children and adults alike.
Spent three days in tears, kneeling on the floor of Marvel stadium at the Awakening Australian conference in Melbourne, wrecked by Holy Spirit, being healed and filled with love, joy and new life
And! I have spent 2018 in the most beautiful church, surrounded by and serving with humans who love Jesus with everything they have - talk about a great cloud of witnesses!
I am so thankful. So, so thankful to Jesus. He has been so good to me this last year, and I know its only just the beginning! Already I have plans for 2019; more writing, painting, gathering, travelling and loving. Oh! I can’t wait!
A verse and prayer for you this New Years day, to encourage and reset you for whatever plan (or lack of plan) you may have for this year.
I love you.
